RECIPE: Mega Sardines Con Pasta


Do you love sardines but are hungry for new ways to have it? Your favorite canned food brand has some ideas for you.

Mega Sardines in Tomato Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • Pasta (spaghetti, fettuccini, carbonara or macaroni)
  • 3 cans Mega Sardines in Tomato Sauce (155-gram cans)
  • 1 can button mushroom, sliced
  • 1 head garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 bottle catsup
  • 1 1/2 cup broth
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 1 can all-purpose cream
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup

PROCEDURE

Cook pasta according to package directions. Saute garlic in butter and add pasta. Season with salt and pepper.

Saute garlic and onion in butter and oil. Add the rest of the ingredients.

Prepare Bechamel (white sauce). Mix 1 can all-purpose cream, and a can of cream of mushroom. Season with preferred spices (Rosemary, basil, Italian seasoning or pinch of curry). Season with pepper, salt and sugar.

Arrange in Pyrex container starting with red sauce, sauteed pasta, white sauce. Repeat. Sprinkle grated cheese on top, followed by butter, flakes and eggs. Sprinkle chopped red and green bell pepper. Bake until cheese melts.
