There was no way I was going to fade into the background in these — my first thought on seeing the clothing brand Plains & Prints’ new pre-fall collection. As with all of the brand’s designs, the collection is unapologetically urban and feminine.

Uptown Girl

The Uptown Girl Collection is clearly the centerpiece of the set. Inspired by fashion icon Audrey Hepburn, it features designs that are more formal, yet remain as eye-catching as the rest of the Pre-Fall line. Matched with your favorite office shoes, these pieces are great both for work and your post-work activities like a date or dinner with friends.

Fleur de Lis

Purple dominates the Fleur de Lis Collection, with a smattering of pink and peach. It’s not for any shrinking violets, though, because these designs — inspired by the radiant orchid — are the boldest of the collection. Any of these pieces will be perfect for affairs that require one to be the center of attention: a birthday party, a date, a speaking engagement.

California Dreamin’

The younger set will love the sweetness of the California Dreamin’ Collection. The designs have lots of pink and feature softer flower designs. The pieces work for a more casual look, and will go as well with your most comfortable street sandals and sneakers as it will with strappy heels.

Flights of Fancy

The Flights of Fancy Collection also features more casual designs, but with abstract prints rather than flowery ones. When you want to look bright and stylish, but don’t want a too-formal look, like for a friend’s birthday or a nice afternoon tea with your aunts.

I think it’s quite fitting for brands to come up with bright and vivid designs for fall. With the typhoon season coming up soon, one should brave the winds and rain with elegance and a bold outlook.
