A romantic dinner is always a challenge to pull off. The right place, charming ambience, and of course, the perfect food. The latest Curiosity got the Chef episode has Chef Sharwin out to prove the old proverb that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach is not gender specific.

The first recipe is Salmon Sashimi which is flashed with a heated mixture of vegetable and coconut oil. Tomato Ginger Water is then added by passing tomatoes through a strainer then mixing in some ginger silvers and seasoned with salt and pepper.

The next dish is Sweet Potato Gnocchi. The gnocchi itself is made from mashed sweet potatoes combined with flour, egg, salt and black pepper to produce the dough which is rolled and sliced into pillow shapes before boiling them in water. The gnocchi is then tossed in a melted butter sauce with sliced shiitake mushrooms, kangkong leaves, parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

Grilled New York Strip Steak with Creamy Mushroom Crust

The last lovely offering is Grilled New York Strip Steak with Creamy Mushroom Crust. This lightly grilled steak is first covered in a sauce made from sautéed sliced button and shiitake mushrooms with thyme, minced garlic, all-purpose cream and mozzarella cheese before baking in an oven until a yummy cheesy crust forms on the steak. All in all, these tasty delights contribute to a very memorable evening.
