Green tea, herbal tea, white tea… I must admit, drinking tea was never my “cup of tea” as I used to think that the taste didn’t go well with my sweet tooth. I was more of a coffee person and sometimes I drank 4 cups of coffee a day just because I enjoyed it. Now that I’m more health-conscious, tea has caught my attention — and now I prefer it.
Why I love tea:
- I like the taste — and because I drink tea, I end up taking in more fluids a day.
- The reported benefits to my metabolism.
- It supposedly slows down signs of aging.
- It reduces the risks of hypertension. Nobody wants to suffer from having to deal with unusually high blood pressure. Oolong tea is your best bet.
- It may just protect my bones. One study shows that people who have been drinking tea for years have stronger bones than the ones who do not.
- It helps lower cholesterol. Drinking black tea will do the trick for you!
- Tea contains antioxidants. It protects the body because it contains antioxidants that help you fight off unwanted illness. Compared to any other tea, white tea contains more antioxidants.
- Tea doesn’t have calories. Unless you add sugar or any other sweeteners, tea is calorie-free and can even help you lose weight. Of course, exercise will also help
you burn that fat away!
- Tea has less caffeine than coffee.
- Tea reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer. Studies show that drinking green tea has this extra benefit.
There are so many ways to enjoy drinking a cup or two every day. If you don’t like the taste of tea, you can always add sweeteners or even milk to your tea to instantly tweak it to your taste. Drink up and enjoy!
